“Does everyone have to perform?” Nope! We never force comedy.

Once in a while, you realize that you’ve been leaving out some important details!

In this case, MYT staffers were at an Austin ISD event, speaking to teachers and administrators about our program. As a group of inveterate showoffs, we have always emphasized the performance opportunities we provide. At this event, however, we were struck by the number of people who said things like, “It sounds like fun, but my group does NOT want to perform.” And suddenly, we realized we hadn’t been explaining things properly…

Move Your Tale is happy to provide traditional Improv classes and shows, but our workshops and residencies are frequently low pressure group focused classes that use the tools and philosophy of Improv to build trust in the group, teach SEL/curricular goals or to help the group gain new tools for creative collaboration.

No matter what the event, Improv is NEVER about putting anyone on the spot.
